How do I know if my ECU is compatible?

To do this, you need to open the ECU and make sure that one of the supported ROM types is installed:

FAQ

The set of capabilities, maps (calibrations) is determined by the software and firmware of the ECU. MotronicRT as an intermediary between software and ECU does not define a set of parameters (calibrations) and capabilitiesFor example, in TunerPRO RT a set of parameters is specified using XDF file, which must correspond to the specific firmware of a specific ECU. More information here. You can also use any software such as WinOLS with our utility – CobraRTP Utility

Additional features are: tables tracing in TunerPRO RT, has dual-mode firmware, as well as analog inputs for monitoring in TunerPRO RT.

The CobraRTP memory emulator doesn't solve the problem of replacing the MAF sensor with the MAP sensor directly. This would require not only hardware modifications to the ECU but also a complete rewrite of the firmware algorithms due to the fundamental difference in the fuel injection calculations between the MAF sensor and the MAP sensor.

With our device, this is possible if you have a MAF calibration table and the new MAF is compatible with your ECU.

The device is not tied to a specific engine configuration, including turbocharging. Its main function is live tuning of the standard ECU firmware calibrations.

Installing a turbocharger will require adapting the engine management system (AFR, ignition, operating modes, etc.), which is what the memory emulator is designed for. Therefore, the answer is yes.

Officially our equipment, including MotronicRT, is supported in TunerPRO RT. But you can use any other software via our CobraRTP Utility with the function "Autoupload", but unfortunately without the ability to trace tables - this function is supported only in TunerPRO RT.

1. Maintaining the functionality of the automatic transmission

2. Maintaining the functionality of all units that require communication with the engine ECU via K/CAN buses

3. Maintaining the standard diagnostic system

4. Maintaining the standard anti-knock system

5. No need to interfere with the vehicle's wiring

6. Low threshold for entering the tuning process. In most cases with third-party ECUs, it is necessary to configure basic maps and parameters practically from scratch.

For the Motronic ECU (DME), no modifications are needed. All you need to do is remove the stock chip and install the emulator instead.

Upgrade and installation in Siemens MS40.1, see here: перейти…

Nissan: for 8bit ECU (1 chip) study: перейти… For 16bit ECU (2 chips) you need daughterboard

Yes, it is possible. The firmware is stored in the CobraRTP memory in the same form as in the chip.
Therefore, after tuning, you can simply write the final firmware to the chip using the EPROM programmer. You can get firmware in * .bin format from CobraRTP using CobraRTP Utility.

Yes, you can use (drive with the device) the emulator unlimitedly, as well as the chip, because the firmware is stored in the device's memory for at least 25 years without self erase.

For BMW, Audi, Opel, VW, etc. fits TunerPRO RT  Is a universal editor of standard ECU firmware that works with various equipment, including ROM emulators.
To work with a specific ECU, you need a firmware (bin) and the corresponding map and table definition file (xdf). All this can be obtained on the off. site: http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadBinDefs.htm.

For Nissan — Nistune or TunerPRO RT.

If you use any other editor, for example WinOLS, then using CobraRTP Utility you can quickly upload firmware to CobraRTP online.

The analogues we know of are: Moates Ostrich (discontinued) and Pocket ROMulator.

No, it is not required. This software works with MotronicRT and our other products without a license and without any restrictions.

Attention! CobraRTP products are designed for use in motorsports! Use on civil transport and/or public roads is prohibited!
